Latest Venetian Plastering Projects Showcase Polished Grassello and Milano Plaster
September 2010 -- Veneshe's latest projects - a restored turn of the century historic home in Quakertown and a modern, well-appointed condo in Newtown, PA showcase a variety of Venetian Plaster wall finishes and ceiling treatments.
A beautifully restored turn of the century historic home on Main Street in Quakertown now features a peacock-themed Italian plaster treatment wall and ceiling in what was once a doctor's operatory area. Glossy teal Grassello di Calce walls showcase movement and rich depth of color variation on the polished surface, contrasting sharply with a bright white polished Venetian plaster ceiling.
The reflective Venetian plaster shines on the ceiling and wraps down to the top of the tall walls, upon which an intricate art deco-inspired border was applied using white Venetian plaster over a custom Melanie Royals modello. The peacock theme was carried up to the ceiling, forming a medallion for the restored lighting fixture. See more Venetian plaster pictures of this project in the Venetian Plaster Gallery.

The Most Authentic Way to Learn How to Venetian Plaster
July 2010 -- Registration is open for Veneshe's fall Italian plaster training class, October 2-9, 2010 in Mondaino, a small mountain town not far from the seaside resort of Rimini. Participants stay in a rustic farmhouse located outside of town, and travel to the nearby village of Saludecio to work on an Italian plaster restoration project. The daily morning training/working session is capped off with a multi-course, freshly prepared lunch at the farmhouse, complete with locally produced wine, and afternoons are free for enjoying the countryside.
Take a quintessentially Italian decorative art form - Venetian Plastering, a group of international students and professionals eager to master its techniques on a restoration project in Italy, and ample opportunities for sight-seeing, wine-tasting, and experiencing life in the Italian countryside, and you have one of the most unique, travel and learning vacations available today. Decorative painters, Italian plaster artisans, architects and builders, interior designers and creative-minded homeowners can experience the camaraderie and satisfaction of working together to transform a simple room into a stunning example of Venetian plaster artistry, building friendships, skills and portfolio-building credentials that will last a lifetime.
