This introductory class at Bethlehem, Pennsylvania's renowned community arts center is for the handy homeowner or decorative painter who wants to learn how to apply Italian plasters. In this introductory course in applying Italian Plaster, Lori Blomstrom teaches students basic plastering application techniques that can be applied to walls, ceilings, columnsand other architectural features in the home or business. Students learn how to apply three of the most popular and beautiful Venetian Plaster finishes: Marmorino, the beautiful and classic Italian plaster finish made of bits of marble dust and lime; the luxurious and gilded Stucco Milano, which boasts a soft, metallic sheen; and Grassello, the polished plaster that resembles marble in look and touch. Participants walk away with six sample boards of decorative plaster finishes, and skills to add value and appeal to the home, with authentic plasters imported directly from Italy.
