The Italian Plaster feature wall pictured above is just one of the many Venetian Plaster pictures that you will find in browsing our online portfolio. We've organized the portfolio into galleries which group together decorative plaster products and plaster application techniques: the richly polished plasters perfect for walls and ceilings, also known as Grassello or Stucco Veneziano - perfect for grand foyers, elegant dining rooms and stunning bathrooms; the traditional Italian plasters you can see applied to bedroom walls and sitting rooms, such as Marmorino; the evocative Tuscan plasters we've applied to kitchens, artwork and hallways; and the Old World plasters like Mantova and Piatto which look stunning in living rooms and bedrooms. Take a moment to browse our Venetian Plaster pictures and examples of our work with clients. Enjoy! |
Veneshe is often asked by clients to team up with other interior designers and decorative painters to produce stunning, one-of-a-kind Venetian Plaster walls, features, ceilings and surface treatments. This featured project represents the dramatic scale and effect that can be achieved when a standard builder-issue fireplace, out of proportion to the rest of the room, is visually enlarged to be in scale with the cathedral ceiling and feature wall, and the entire look is unified with a stunning decorative plaster finish.
To start, the wall was given a much needed makeover using Piatto Italian Plaster, adding richly neutral color and an aged texture which evoked the homeowners' love of Italy. A skip trowel method was used to apply the Italian Plaster. The fireplace was then trimmed with faux painted woodgrained millwork for a larger mantel and second level to add height and dimension. Finally, Holly Fields-Scott of Bella Pintura was commissioned to paint a trompe l'oeil border, scenic and fireplace embellishments, giving the room a stately focal point in harmony with its architectural proportions.
